ITINERARY:
Day-1 Kolkata- Tarapith Arrive at Kolkata & transfer to Shantiniketan (200 km/ 4.5 Hrs). This place was founded in 1901 by Noble Laureate Late Rabindra Nath Tagore. Arrive & Check in at hotel. Visit Amar Kutir (Handicraft Center) near Kopai River & rest of the evening at leisure to enjoy the peace & serenity of this place. O/n at hotel in Shantiniketan.
Day-2 Shantiniketan Singhtseeing Today, visit, Visva - Bharati University Campus, the complex at "Uttarayan" (Udayan, Shyamali, Konarak, Udichi & Punaschha houses of Tagore), Art Gallery, Museum. Afternoon visit Khoai Hat near Sonajhuri forest to experience the tribes and their life, art, song and dance. O/n at hotel in Shantiniketan.
Day-3 Shantiniketan- Tarapith Today, proceed to Tarapith (70 km/ 1.5 hrs)- a small temple town, known for its Tantrik temple and its adjoining Maha Smashan grounds where sadhna/ tantric rituals are performed. Visit Tara Devi temple (a Shaktipeeth temple) - dedicated to Ma Tara Devi (another form of Ma Kali). O/n at hotel in Tarapith.
Day-4 Tarapith- Kolkata Proceed to Kolkata (230 km/5 Hrs). Visit Kalighat Temple, Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge, St Pauls Cathedral. O/n at hotel in Kolkata.
